Christine || A Shibari Boudoir Session at the CWP Downtown Loft

I’ve known Christine for a few years and always enjoyed her company. I’d been talking with her about doing a sample shoot in my downtown loft to create a few examples so I can showcase the space. I’m absolutely bonkers about the high ceilings, old wooden floor, and gigantic windows that look out over San Diego’s downtown Gaslamp District. When I found out Christine was available to shoot on a day when my shibari artist friend Wendie was in town, I jumped at the chance to get the two of them together in front of my camera.
Wendie’s been interested in suspension and decorative rope for as long as she can remember, but when Covid hit, she found herself with more time to study it and to practice with her husband. After doing her own simple ties for a while, she started further developing her skills and working with other rope artists, learning to let the rope “flow like water” as she does decorative ties. She’s found that she especially loves chest ties, because they are not only beautiful, but also feel like a hug.
Christine has a background in dance and does some professional modeling, and recently moved quite far away, so this was a perfect opportunity for us all to spend some time together and play, make some beautiful images, and figure out a plan for how to bring Shibari sessions to my client base. 🙂
